I’ve hosted over two dozen events in DC, participated in countless others — and many of those events were special in so many ways, but this one — this one was different. For one thing, it wasn’t even in the city.
You could see the grocery chain Harris Teeter across the street, but it felt like we were partying in some LA – Ballston glass encased Matrix. And secondly, I personally didn’t do any work in making any of these things happen. With Mercedes-Benz promoting my fashion week photos on supersize banners above their showroom and donating $500 to my Shoot for Change Scholarship at American Ballet Theatre (even though it wasn’t a fundraising event), this was clearly a rewarding night for Fashiontographer and Shoot for Change. Epic kudos to RedPeg Marketing and Mercedes-Benz of Arlington for their generosity and for hosting a first class baller event. And special thanks to Katelyn Gimbel for her vision and for including me and my work. Undoubtedly, this night was on a completely new level for me and I’m happy that there were some friends there to prove that this event actually happened.
